2010 Western Metro Atlanta Team Regional

Where: Campbell High School, 5265 Ward St. SE, Smyrna, GA 30080

When: Sunday, March 7, 2010.

Open to: All students in grades K-5 attending public school, and whose school is located in that part of Fulton County south of the Chattahoochee River, or in Cobb County, Cherokee County, or any county to the west. Home schooled students in grades K-5 attending school in this geographical region also should enter this regional.

Sections: Primary (K-3) and Elementary (K-5). Sixth grade students attending a school having no grade higher than sixth may enter the K-5 section.

Format: Five round, unrated, individually paired Swiss System tournament with a time control of 30 minutes per player, or 25 minutes per player with a five second
time delay.

Rounds: 10am – 11:30am – 1pm – 2:30pm – 4pm. Awards ceremony ASAP after round 5.

Registration: Must pre-register and pre-pay. Late or on-site registrations not accepted.

Entries must be received by the GCA by Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

Entry Fee: $20 per student, discounted to $10 per student if attending a Title 1 school.

Awards: Participation awards to all players. Trophies to all school teams with plus scores. The top 1/4 (rounded off) of all Primary and Elementary teams are automatically qualified for the State Team Finals.
